Christmas fun!

Here are some things we have enjoyed while on our Christmas break.
LOTS of snow...

Our gingerbread house...
my shepherds in the Christmas play...

decorating the tree..
Yummy sugar cookies....

of course Christmas morning Anson was up at 4 AM and did not go back to sleep. He could NOT control himself or his excitement.

A sure sign of old age

So Sunday night Aaron and I went to my sister Callie's Christmas concert. She is in the UVU institute choir. For those who don't know about Callie, she is my only sister and we are 16 years apart.... making her 22.

So the concert ends and Callie comes down to a small circle of family and friends to tell her what a great job she did.. yada yada. So in this small group of people is a friend of Callie's I have never seen before, along with my brother and sister in law with their baby. So this girl turns to Stacey, my sister in law and says, " are you Callie's sister?" Stacey says "no, I'm the sister in law and this is my baby." She then turns to me and says, "and your the mom?" Stacey busts out laughing as I say, "no, I'm the sister" she says "oh, sorry, so your the OLDER sister." yes, I am.

Now the rest of the evening at the institute is a blur as I am instantly aware of every wrinkle and grey hair on my head. All I remember is that she STUCK AROUND! I would think she would be embarrassed and take off, but no she just hung around right by my side as everyone visited. Then when we decided to leave she was right there with us and walked out the same time. Holy crap! .... get lost

I guess I could have had Callie when I was 16. It's not impossible... but geezzz really?

ladies and gentleman........my children!

So yesterday on the way home from school (I picked Anson up early because he threw up 2x in the lobby) he tells me when he grows up he wants to be a lunch server in the lunch room. It looks like fun and they always get to eat first.

Later that same day, I ask Morgan if she wants a banana, which she likes, and she says "no, I'm alergic to bananas cause they have snot in them."

Black Friday

Thanksgiving was very nice this year. The food was awsome and the company was great. We were at my mom and dads in Lindon for the day. Now the poor overlooked holiday is finally passed and the maddness of Christmas is in FULL swing!

Yes, this year I joined the crazies! This is Walmart at 4:30 am the morning after. Amy Jones and I decided we wanted those $30 Leapsters. So I was standing 3 feet away from the display when the time came for a mad dash......I got NOTHING!! I could hear Amy in the background yelling "go Marci go!" but in a 10 second blurr they were GONE! We could not believe it. To make a long story short....I will NEVER do that Walmart maddess again. Not worth it. We did however end up going over to Kholes who also had them but not as good of a deal, and got our Leapsters there.
They say that doing this once a year is not that bad, but it really is.

So Morgan dressed herself today and I let her stay in it all day because we were not going out. She was so proud of herself because I told her long pant and a long sleeve shirt and that is what she got on. Every time she comes out of her bedroom all dressed we usually have to go back in and change something. She is not grasping the color matching thing yet and I am starting to wonder if she ever will.

Halloween pics

I just wanted to post some fotos of this year's Halloween. We had a great time, the weather was perfect!

This was my cute little witch. After a short trip round the block, she oppted to stay with dad to hand out candy. She would take a piece of candy and run out the door to meet the trick or treaters before they were even on our lawn and plop it in their baskets. That was funner than trick or treating.

This was my Master Jedi. He needed a lesson in Halloween edicate after I heard him at a few doors say , "Oh, I hate those!" Nice.

and this is little chief on the war path. He was the funniest. He just took right off behind all the other kids with his little bucket and went door to door. He loved it! You could not get that bucket of candy out of his hands.

So until next year.....

Cornbellies 08

We discovered Cornbellies last year and had so much fun that we decided to make it a tradition. So this is our 2nd annual Cornbellies trip.

We planned on going on Tues. but Anson had a mishap at school so we put it off for another day cause he was not feeling up to it. He ran into another kid and they hit heads in the recess line up. NICE, just in time for Halloween.

They LOVED playing in the corn
hangin with the cows

racing ducks

dressing up
train ride through the pumpkin patch

slides!

Anson would not get off these.

and milking

It was great weather and we had our usual blast! Dad couldn't come with us so we left Mitchell with him.

Disneyland!

I finally have something to blog about. I know you have all been waiting. We left Mitch with my mom and took the older 2 on a vacation. We did 3 very full, hot, l o n g days in Disneyland and California Adventure. We did make the mistake of taking them on their first ride to Space Mountain and that did it for Morgan. She cried on just about every ride after that if we had to go into a building.

We ran into alot of people we know. The most exciting was my cousin that I have not seen in about 10 years. That was CRAZY! We also saw Mark Black and his family, the Walls and the Olsens were there too. Aubri came on Sat. so we just missed her. We also ran into my sister-in-laws family. We saw alot of BYU shirts and hats. It was not crowded the first day but the other 2 were crazy. I keep using that word, I know. It was about 90 degrees and poor little Morgan had a hard time keeping up so we rented her a stroller. (she came with an ear infection and congestion and really not feeling up to par).

This was Morgan's favorite ride.

I also got to meet up with my old friend Pammy who lives in the area. Thanks for comming Pammy, it was great to see you and you haven't changed a bit. Luv U

For Sale

The other night Morgan just happened to pass by Lindy Jones who was out selling rocks. Aaron kindly bought 2 rocks from her and ever since then it's been nothing but "can I sell... " So today I said she could maybe sell otter pops when Anson gets home from school. Well, apparently she couldn't wait and this is what I found.

She got some paper and made herself a sign. Don't ask me what it says. She gathered some rocks together and sat on the front porch steps and waited.

This is a closer look at her sign. Yes, that is a raisin box all taped up with stickers to her paper. Maybe that was her incentive? hummmmm

My thought for the day...

Daily thought:

Some people are like slinkies-- not really good for anything, but they bring a smile to you face when you push them down the stairs.

The gawky stage

So Sat. Anson lost one of his front teeth that was BARELY loose, by catching it on the trampoline net. The other one that was hanging on by a thread didn't come out until Monday. I just finally held him down, it was driving me crazy. So here is the new look of my 1st grader. Yes we are entering the gawky stage.
